Director Statement
I wrote this story around 2014, it used to be a short tale. I was inspired by a couple that I met some years ago, the classic tale of the Odyssey, and the fascination I have with creepy dolls. It was until 2018 that I rewrote the story as a script, and one year later I filmed an exercise in a Film Workshop around it. I portrayed Ulises, but I was not satisfied with the result. So, in December of 2021 I decided it was time to finish this story. As the Director and Cinematographer, I wanted to make an homage to early horror films of the Nineteen & Twentieth Century: Nosferatu, Bela Lugosi's Dracula, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. But at the same time, I wanted to bring a psychological and thriller atmosphere more characteristic of our modern folk horror. Please enjoy the result of 7 years of a dolly nightmare tale, but remember (as Ulises said in the film) this is not the Maribel, the creepy doll movie :)
