Director Biography - Dominik Balkow

Dominik Balkow was born in 1988 in Berlin. After graduating from high school, he studied film directing at Film Academy Kelle (Berlin). Since successfully completing his studies in 2012, he's worked independently as a music video director (and editor). "O" is his third short film. His feature film debut "Aphasie" (Aphasia) is currently in post-production.

Director Statement

Our goal with "O" is to make the feeling of addiction palpable and to show it with all of its consequences. It was especially important to me not to shoot yet another "needle in the arm" film. Our goal is to tell this story using unique surreal images and sounds, in order to offer a projection surface for every form of addiction.
