A HORROR KING ONSCREEN:
THE MOVIES & TELEVISION OF STEPHEN KING It’s scary to think nearly 45 years have passed since audiences first saw the work of Stephen King bloody up the screen with Carrie, yet recent writing like The Outsider brought fresh nightmare fodder to HBO just earlier this year.
The prolific author’s output has never slowed over the decades giving Hollywood a non-stop stream of stories ranging from frightening to inspiring, though admittedly to varying degrees of quality.
With over 100 releases related to his work already and dozens more currently in development Phoenix FearCon and Youtube’s The Horror Show Channel proudly present an esteemed team of Constant Readers for some spooktacular palaver about a Horror King Onscreen.

JAIME’ EN FUEGO

Jaime’ En Fuego is a longtime Host & Co-Producer on Youtube’s The Horror Show Channel and creator of it’s weekly program Hail To Stephen King, which for over 200 episodes has celebrated all facets of Sai King’s work and it’s various adaptations.  After being disturbed as a child by voices in a sink and Blue Öyster Cult played over a lab of dead scientists Fuego decided to read ALL of his favorite author’s writing in published order, a task completed in 2017 and continued with each new release. Tower Junkie for life.

MIKE KEARNS

The host, producer and editor of Mike’s Book Reviews on YouTube, a channel that discusses the love of reading and encourages debate and discussion while proving in a time of heightened opinions that we can disagree and still be pals.   A Stephen King Constant Reader for almost 30 years, Mike has every book on hardcover by “The Master of Horror” and has seen every film and TV adaptation made of his works.   His favorite King books are IT, The Stand, Pet Sematary, Different Seasons, and The Long Walk.

Lou W. Sytsma is the Host of the Stephen King Podcast. SARAH WAGSTAFF

Who am I? Well, it’s hardly common knowledge is it? Thank goodness a lady can be common without everyone knowing! My journey with Stephen King started as a youngster when I was given a paperback of Pet Sematary by my Aunt Mary. I didn’t read it right away, but lent it to a friend who was kept captive all summer, made to read by a wicked stepmother. I had a crush on an older boy and he told me I should read The Talisman. Since King kept flying at me I kept dipping in, loving the grim reality he brought to his fantasy and the dark imagination of his horror. Now I’m many books and books made to movies in. I write my own horrors in my head, knowing King sees the worst case scenarios imagined and brings them to life. The love of horror might be the mark of the privileged. Now that we are living in The Stand or the beginnings of the rundown world os Roland’s Dark Tower series, it’s merely prophetic. A good goth has already dressed for the funeral. God Save The King!
