Director Biography - Andrew Stadler

Andrew Stadler is an animator from Dayton, Ohio recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Director Statement

I've always loved monster movies. Growing up I was fascinated with Alien, the Thing, Ray Harryhousen films, and whatever I could find in the video store. It wasn't until I found my love for animation that I realized there really wasn't a lot of horror in animation, a genre that felt overlooked but waiting to be explored. When the pandemic hit, the story of Beacon began to take shape. The isolation of being at home, the confusion of what was happening, and the feeling of helplessness all became center pieces of the story. Beacon is a tale of how even the best of intentions can lead to horrifying consequences.
